Event description

Join us on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm for the Ageing in WA- Thriving Physically, Mentally and Culturally networking event for early career researchers.

Networking is vital for researchers; it builds knowledge, collaboration and professional growth. As Australia’s population ages, healthy ageing is an increasingly important area of research. Join us for an inspiring evening with early career researchers exploring key topics in falls prevention, consumer and caregiver involvement and healthy ageing. This event offers the perfect opportunity to connect with like-minded researchers, learn and spark new ideas.

Hear from a range of different speakers:

  • Si Ye (Benjamin) Lee, Optometrist, PhD candidate: Advancing Healthy Ageing: Building community optometrists’ role in falls prevention

  • Dr Cheng Yen Loo, PhD: Voices in older Chinese consumers- Keeping older CaLD patients safe in hospital

  • Dr Jo-Aine Hang, PhD: Consumer-led falls prevention education for homecare clients

  • Charunya Abeysinghe M, Nurse, PhD candidate: Caring for the carers: An online mindfulness program for informal carers of people with dementia
