Let’s shout a steak for a mate doing it tough – First Farmer Dinner is in Omeo on the 25th June 2025

Every day, thousands of Australian farmers are on the frontline of drought — feeding stock, carting water, making impossible decisions. Many haven’t had a day off in months. Some haven’t had a proper sit-down meal with mates in even longer.

‘Steak for a Mate’ is a grassroots campaign to show our farmers they’re not forgotten.

With just $20, $30 or $50, you can sponsor a farmer’s seat at a local BBQ — giving them a hot meal, a cold drink, and the connection they need to keep going. It’s more than a steak — it’s a message of "we see you, we thank you, and we care for you."

Funds raised will support community-led events in drought-affected areas across regional Australia. These gatherings offer farmers a break from the grind, a chance to catch up with neighbours, and a reminder that they’re valued.
