All aboard the Ashy Dasher! Step back in time and enjoy a classic heritage steam train experience, journeying from Ashburton to Flinders Street return.

Shuttle 2: 10:56 am – 11:51 am

IMPORTANT: A few quick things before you book!

⏰ WE ARE ON A TIGHT SCHEDULE (ARRIVE 30 MIN EARLY): The train operates on a strict rail timetable. We highly recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to your departure time to allow sufficient time for ticket scanning, and boarding.

🔄 QUICK TURNAROUND TIMES: There is only a very small window of time allocated to let the previous riders off and get your group safely on board. We rely heavily on your preparedness and cooperation to make this transition seamless. Please have your tickets open on your phone and ready to scan while in line.

🚫 NO EXIT AT FLINDERS STREET: This is a continuous return shuttle service to and from Ashburton. Passengers cannot exit or disembark the train at Flinders Street.

🚽 NO ONBOARD TOILETS: Due to the age of the carriages, there are no toilet facilities on the train. Please use the public restrooms prior to boarding, located in Ashburton Square (Corner of Welfare Parade and High St).

👶 PRAMS & STROLLERS: Prams are welcome but must be fully folded down to fit safely within the heritage carriage storage spaces.

♿ ACCESSIBILITY: Due to the historic design and narrow doorways of the vintage carriages, the train is configured for fixed passenger seating only and unfortunately cannot accommodate non-folding wheelchairs.

How the Train Trail works?

Search for trains hidden in shop windows along High Street. There are 15 waiting to be found, but you only need to spot 6. Simply snap a photo of each train and upload it via the link below to enter.

• How to Play: Find at least 6 trains. Each additional train spotted earns you a bonus entry (e.g., 6 trains = 1 entry, 7 trains = 2 entries, 8 trains = 3, and so on).

• The Prize: You could win one of 10 $100 vouchers to spend at Ashburton Village businesses.

• Live Dates: Starts Monday, 7 September at 9:00 am.

• Closing Time: Ends Sunday, 13 September at 9:00 pm.
