Join us for a performance by virtuoso violinist Les Gyori and internationally acclaimed pianist Alexander Nettelbeck.
An exciting musical journeny performing selected works by wonderful Baroque, Jazz, Latin and Contemprorary composers.
Although separated by time these musical forms share the common element of improvisation!
Having performed together for nearly a decade the duo are looking forward to reuniting for the 2025 concert season!
About the Artists:
Les Gyori
As a multi-genre and virtuosic violinist, Les performs crossover stylistic fusions incorporating classical , pop and jazz. Les has performed on TV and radio and has toured Australia extensively. Les’s performances include concerts highlighting his compositions involving opera, jazz, ambient and electronic themes. Les has performed many times at The Melbourne Recital Centre. Les has recorded original works in New York, He has arranged string orchestra parts for radio, television, solo artists and movie projects and performed alongside Sir Bob Geldof, The Furys, and The Black Sorrows, to name a few.
Alexander Nettelbeck
Alexander is a musician whose playing style encompasses classical jazz, blues, Latin, and contemporary music. With an impressive list of musical associations ranging from Kate Ceberano to Marcia Hines,Vivian Sessoms (USA), baroque violinist Davide Monti (Italy) and Eric McGrath (Ireland/Spain), he has performed extensively locally and overseas with his own groups. Alexander has performed at Melbourne Recital Centre, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, St Kilda Festival, Tuscia In Jazz, Italy and Piwinica Pod Baranami Jazz Festival, Poland, and for events and festivals in the UK, France, Germany, Portugal, Japan and New Zealand. He has recorded a number of albums and his compositions have featured in theatre, radio, film and television.
