Stella Day Out is an event series by The Stella Prize, celebrating Australian women and non-binary writers.

Hosted at Quest on Wickham Terrace in Brisbane, this free session is an exciting opportunity to hear from award-winning author Mirandi Riwoe.

Mirandi Riwoe is the author of A Short History of Longans. Her novel, Stone Sky Gold Mountain, won the inaugural ARA Historical Novel Prize and the Queensland Literary Award and was shortlisted for the Stella Prize and longlisted for the Miles Franklin Award. Her novella The Fish Girl won Seizure’s Viva la Novella and was shortlisted for the Stella Prize. Sunbirds was shortlisted for the Barbara Jefferis Award, while The Burnished Sun is a collection of her short stories and novellas. Mirandi has a PhD in Creative Writing and Literary Studies (QUT). She is on the board of the Australian Society of Authors and is the fiction editor for Westerly Magazine.

In conversation with Teresa Dyson, Mirandi will discuss her latest book, A Short History of Longans, and her writing practice. This will be a vibrant evening celebrating some of the best new Australian literature.
