Description

All Aboard the STEM Train - Term 3 School Holiday Science Program! 🚂🔬

Forget worksheets. Forget screens. This September, give your child a school holiday they'll actually want to talk about.

STEM Train is bringing five hands-on, jaw-dropping science experiments - the kind where things fizz, spark, react and transform right in front of your child's eyes. Every single session is genuinely hands-on, curriculum-linked, and designed to leave kids buzzing with "wait, how does that work?!"

What makes this different?

🎓 Led by real experts. Our sessions are run by a qualified scientist and a pharmacist. Your kids are learning from people who've actually lived and breathed science.

🧪 Real curriculum relevance. Every experiment is mapped to the Australian Curriculum, so this isn't just fun, it's giving your child a genuine head start when they're back in the classroom.

🎒 Grades 3-6. Five experiments per session. The morning sessions are different from the afternoon, but all morning and all afternoon sessions are the same. There is some continuity between the morning and afternoon experiments.

👥 Small groups, big attention. We keep numbers tight so every child gets real hands-on time at every station, not just a front-row seat to watch someone else do the interesting bit.

📵 Screen-free, guilt-free. Either half or full day of genuine engagement and discovery, not another day lost to a tablet.

📍 Location: Amaroo Neighbourhood Centre, 34 Amaroo St, Chadstone.

Time: Mon 21st, Thursday 24th, Mon 28th of Sep & Thurs 1st October. 9am-12pm and/or 1pm-4pm

💰 $45 per session or $80 for a full day

Spots are genuinely limited - small groups are the whole point, which means seats fill fast.

FAQs

  • Will there be food and drinks provided?

Unfortunately, there is no food or drinks available on the premises but you are more than welcome to bring your own. Please make sure the kids do not share their food with other children. The closest food venue will be at the Chadstone Village.

  • Are there any wheelchair access?

Yes we have wheelchair access via the front of the building facing Amaroo Street.

  • Do I need to be present all session for my child?

You do not need to be present as the kids will be supervised during the lesson. If you wish to stay, you are more than welcome to. However, the classroom will not accommodate all parents, so if you do wish to stay, please be seated outside.

  • What do I need to bring?

Make sure kids are in appropriate clothing. There may be splashbacks from experiments so please wear long sleeve coverings and a change of clothes. We will provide the kids with goggles on the day. Alternatively, we have Stem Train branded lab coats available on sale if you would like to purchase some. You are also welcome to bring your own lab coats if you have any!

Bring water, lots of snacks and food (if you are staying for the whole day) because we need it for brain power!

  • What will the day be like?

The morning session will be different to the afternoon. Each session, there will be age appropriate experiments covering the topics of chemistry, earth science, biology, and physics. Between these experiments, the instructors will also showcase some exciting scientific principals for the students. For the kids to make new friends, there will also be fun “getting to know each other” activities.
