STEP Victoria-Tasmania Seminar | Archana Manapakkam on Succession planning and restructures during life – tax considerations

This event has passed Register

Event description

STEP Victoria - Tasmania Branch invites you to a seminar with Archana Manapakkam TEP of Velocity Legal.

Topic: Succession Planning – Tax-Effective Business Restructures During Life

This seminar will discuss:

    Succession planning involves not just planning for the passing of assets personally owned by a testator, but also planning in respect of assets (including business assets) owned indirectly by a testator through associated structures. In order to achieve the testator’s succession planning objectives in respect of such business assets, it may be prudent to undertake a business restructure during the testator’s lifetime.

    Various options exist for restructuring a business during a testator’s lifetime. This session will:

    1. introduce the main options for restructuring a business, including the small business CGT concessions and the small business restructure roll-over;
    2. examine the requirements and tax consequences associated with each option; and
    3. illustrate, with the aid of case studies, how these options can be used to achieve a testator’s succession planning objectives.
