Put some Spring in your Step - get out, get social and get active!

The Step10 Challenge is a 10-week walking program supporting women of all ages to build fitness and social connections with regular, hosted walks along Boroondara's beautiful local trails.

Kicking off Monday September 29, walks will take place each week at various locations, with times to suit every woman's schedule!

Sign up to join regular walks or just a few; whatever works for you!

All of the events in the Challenge program are free for women living or working in Melbourne's inner-east. A walk volunteer will be there to greet you, so feel free to come alone ready to meet other women just like you!

The program starts with entry-level 3.5km walks until mid-October before progressing to optional longer routes. The Challenge culminates on November 22nd with a 9km loop walk for those who want to take part.

The Step10 Challenge is designed for women at the start of their wellbeing journey, or for those wanting to build back their steps in a safe and supportive team environment. The walks will be at a gentle, social pace.

The below is a guide to the current walks program. Please register and we'll send you a link to our app where you can get up-to-date information on all upcoming walks in the Boroondara program.

Middle phase walks, October and November

Hays Paddock loop, Kew (Monday evenings 5.30pm - 6.30pm)

Meeting at the Lister Street side of Hays Paddock in Kew, we'll follow a linear reserve before taking in a lap of Stradbroke Park to the south before returning to complete our circuit of Hays Paddock. Take a look at the 3.3km loop walk here. We'll add distance as the program progresses, with the option to finish after 1 circuit.

Yarra River walk, Studley Park (Thursday mornings, 9am or 10am)
We'll meet at the picnic area and public toilets close to the historic Studley Park Boathouse for a 3.4km riverside stroll (total distance there-and-back) through the native bush surrounds of Yarra Bend Park. This walk can be extended to 5.1km.

Anniversary Trail, Ashburton (Saturday mornings, 11am-midday) from October 4th
Our weekend beginner's walk is a 3.7km there-and-back ramble along the Gardiners Creek trail beginning at Markham Reserve playground in Ashburton. As the Challenge progresses we'll take in longer sections of the Anniversary Trail loop along some of Melbourne's most picturesque waterways.
