Stepping Into Leadership: A Community for Emerging Veterinary Leaders
Description
Course Overview
Moving into leadership requires more than clinical expertise. Emerging leaders must establish credibility, communicate expectations and support the growth of others, often while navigating changing relationships with former peers. These unfamiliar responsibilities can bring self-doubt and uncertainty about how to lead authentically. Without focused development and a supportive professional community, it can be difficult to translate leadership principles into an approach that feels practical, credible and true to the individual.
Across three monthly live sessions, Cat combines focused leadership education with veterinary-specific scenarios, facilitated discussion and peer learning. Participants can bring de-identified workplace challenges, explore different approaches and develop practical next steps that reflect their values, strengths and professional context. The continuity of the community allows participants to apply their learning, reflect on progress and return with new questions as they develop a more confident and authentic leadership presence.
Key learning areas:
Navigate changing relationships and responsibilities as you move from colleague or team member into leadership.
Develop an authentic leadership presence by recognising your strengths, values and areas for continued growth.
Apply practical communication, mentoring and leadership approaches to realistic situations within veterinary practice.
