"Steps of Freedom" Film Premier
Event description
We are conductors you and I, conductors in the sense that we allow electricity, impulse and ideas to inhabit our minds and traverse our bodies. We are powered by external influence and the internal imaginary. The convergence of these allowing us to communicate the untranslatable. Movement, dance, improvising. Our very own cultural kinesis enacted each time we descend upon tiled kitchens, carpeted bivouacs, rolling prairies or seedy pubs.
In collaboration with the Irish Film Festival, I have been privileged to secure a screening of "Steps Of Freedom" for one night at the Long Play Bar in Fitzroy.
There will be a performance piece to begin the evening followed by an Introduction and then the screening.
There will be a limited capacity of 35 People.
This event will take place on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Peoples of the Kulin Nation, the original dancers of this land.

'Escapism has always been an adjective used to describe the dance. That's an outsiders view. Solidarity is what it really offers.'
