Join digital marketer and producer, Ryan Hamilton, in this introductory Spark Session on Selling Stories - Marketing for the Arts!

A marketing manager is responsible for the creation and distribution of marketing materials to promote the project. Some of their tasks include:

Creating marketing collateral and assets in line with the director’s vision, as well as producer’s requirements
Creating and executing a marketing schedule
Content creation such as print materials, online materials, social media content
Work closely with the producer, production manager and/or publicity manager to create opportunities for engagement

In this 2-hour Spark Session, you’ll learn about the role of a marketing manager and the many hats they can wear, converting a marketing audience into ‘buyers’, as well as various platforms that are widely used to sell stories, and market events.

About Ryan

Ryan was born on Gadigal country, raised on Yugambeh country, and works on Bunurong and Woi Wurrung country. He is a theatre-maker and producer interested in queer, site-specific, and documentary theatre which makes the world a little better. He is currently finishing a bachelor of Business and Arts at Monash University. Past production credits include Owl & the Albatross (Theatre Works, 2022), The Commonwealth of Kekistan (Butterfly Club, 2020), Slaughterhouse Five (Theatre Works, 2019), and many more productions with the Monash Uni Student Theatre. In 2019 he interned with Theatre Works as a Marketing Assistant. He is excited to come to La Trobe and share some of what he’s learnt over the years, on how we can sell our art and stories.
