Description

Sticc and Thicc started out in an artist studio in Burswood, continued it's journey in Osborne Park, and now in Victoria Park! We are thrilled to be sharing the space with the art community at VPCA (Victoria Park Centre for the Arts).

This is a nude life drawing social event, encouraging people of ALL levels to start / get back into / continue practicing drawing in an intimate setting. It’s a seated and super relaxed environment where we can all hopefully make new friends, and get lots of compliments on our art!

GUIDANCE:

Local artist and Victoria Park Portrait Prize Winner and Judge Steph Ee (Luvieur) is often facilitating - so any guidance with drawing can be offered too. Some sessions have Josh Brew facilitating, an art teacher and local artist will facilitate - also allowing guidance with drawing. And Sharnah Lee - although not a teacher - is a long time friend of S+T and a venue host who may run the class.

SUPPLIED:

Paper, pencils, and charcoal are supplied if you'd like to use them, but don't feel that you're limited to these materials. You're very welcome to bring your own book, pens, charcoal, ipad... whatever medium you're comfortable with, OR willing to try and challenge with.

Tables, floor standing easels, chairs, and boards are also available for you.

You are welcome to bring your own refreshments, but wine and tea is also complimentary.

ACCESS:

Yes :) We really mean it when we say all skill levels, all genders, and all ages are welcome. We want everyone to feel welcome! So yes, if you feel that your 4 year old nephew would enjoy drawing and feeling a connection to people and their art - they are absolutely welcome! However - anyone who is rude, offensive, or mistreats the model/other participants/venue will immediately be removed.

The venue also has wheelchair access - but please let us know ahead of time if you may need this - so we can make sure we have the space best prepared for your arrivals.

Free parking is available on the street, but the Bowling Club next door is also an option.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes ahead to get your preferred spot, pick up materials and any refreshments. We start 4PM sharp, please respect the model's time by arriving earlier.

Please note that the model will be naked, so if you’re offended by body parts, perhaps give this a miss.

Come with an open mind, and honesty. This could be a great opportunity to meet like-minded new friends.

We acknowledge this event is being held on stolen land, we honour and respect elders past, present and emerging and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. Sticc and Thicc is operating on Mindeera (Victoria Park). It always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
