Still Life in Gouache: Light Tone and Form with Fabrizio Biviano
Description
Take a close look at how light reveals form in this still life painting workshop. Fabrizio will guide you through the process of creating a tonal gradation scale mixing only ultramarine blue, burnt umber and white to create a scale from black to off-white. This combination of mixed colours will be used throughout the workshop to create monochromatic studies and paintings. You will then be led through short still life drawing exercises designed to sharpen your observation of form, surface and texture, and the relationships between objects. You’ll then apply these skills to create a gouache painting on quality watercolour paper of a curated still life arrangement paying careful attention to tone and light.
