Join us for an exclusive Still Life painting workshop at Oxley Hill Farm Flowers as we welcome Alexander Mckenzie, one of Australia’s most celebrated landscape artists.
Alexander McKenzie is one of Australia's most successful and recognisable artists. With a long career as a painter and some 30 solo exhibitions and innumerable group exhibitions across Australia, Asia and the United Kingdom. Alexander has been the recipient of multiple commissions most importantly the 10 metre painting as part of the 100 year anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Alexander has been a 7 time finalist the Archibald prize and a 9 time finalist in the Wynne prize for landscape at the Art Gallery of NSW Australia. In Alexanders early career he spent time in France at the artist retreat La Briche in the Loire Valley and exhibited in London with Rebecca Hossack from 2001-2011.
Alexanders work is held in many public and private collections in Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong, London, New York, Aspen and Glasgow.
Having taught painting classes during his esteemed career, the class will focus on techniques of still life painting of Oxley Hill Farm Flowers gorgeous early Spring blooms, styled by Olga Lewis of Mercer and Lewis.
Each person will receive their own canvas, paint set and brush set to take home.
There will be a light breakfast upon arrival and morning tea/ Brunch offered.
This class will be followed by a guided flower farm tour of all the Spring flowers growing on the farm
