👖 Got a loose button, a rip in your jacket, or pants that need hemming? Don’t toss it - repair it!

This Beginner's Repair Workshop, run by Salvage Sisters and hosted by Trishlaa, is all about giving your clothes a second life. Whether you’ve never threaded a needle before or just want a refresher, this session will show you how simple fixes can make your clothes last way longer.

What we’ll do:
✨ Learn basic hand-sewing skills (no machines required!)
✨ Try practical fixes on clothes you bring in - loose buttons, rips, small hems
✨ Explore your repair options with guidance from an expert facilitator
✨ Leave with the confidence to mend and extend the life of your wardrobe

What to bring:

1 - 2 items of clothing you’d like to repair (optional)
Yourself! We’ll have needles, thread, and all the materials you’ll need on hand.

Salvage Sisters is a local initiative dedicated to keeping clothes out of landfill by teaching practical repair, reuse, and creative upcycling skills. Through workshops and community events, they empower people to fall back in love with their clothes, one stitch at a time.

About Trishlaa

Trishlaa is a youth-led circular fashion project supported by the City of Melbourne Youth Climate Action Fund. We explore how clothing swaps, repair, and reuse can spark cultural change in the way we value clothes. By creating fun, inclusive spaces for young people to engage, Trishlaa is helping shape a future where fashion is circular, not disposable.
