Event description

Do you have textiles, homewares or other small items that need repair? Don't toss them—you can fix them!

City of Stonnington is working with Let Me Be Frank to deliver our Repair Café program in 2025.

It often feels easier to buy something new, than to fix what we have. But if we knew how to repair the things we already own, we could give them a second chance. This reduces waste, saves money, and help keeps your beloved items in circulation for longer.

About this event

  • We will have expert and keen repairers onsite to attempt to repair your items. You may like to assist with the repair.
  • We are committed to creating a supportive space where everyone is welcome. If our volunteer repairers can’t fix your item, we will offer advice about what to do with it.
  • Our volunteers and staff will support you to learn and share knowledge.
  • Free, bookings are essential. Let us know what item you plan to bring when you book, so our repairers can be prepared!

This event is being coordinated by Let Me Be Frank, on behalf of City of Stonnington

House Rules

  • When registering at arrival we aim to match you to the appropriate repairer.
  • There may be wait times. We encourage attendees to help themselves to light refreshments and chat to other attendees whilst they wait.

  • Items will be tested where appropriate but cannot guarantee that objects work properly once you take them home.
  • Repair volunteers are not obliged to reassemble disassembled appliances that cannot be repaired.
  • One item per person will be repaired on a first case basis, please feel free to bring additional items if repairers have time.
  • All electrical items will need to be checked by our on-site Tag and Tester, this will be free of charge.
