About the Class:

This two-day workshop focuses on composition for all mediums and experience levels. Participants in this workshop will learn accepted picture designs, then learn how to combine those designs to make near fail-proof painting compositions. By learning 15-20 different picture designs in this weekend workshop, artists will leave the class knowing how to make hundreds of different winning compositions on their own.

Suggested supply list:

• -Bring your own supplies for whatever your medium is.

• -Reference photos, the more the better (hint: photos are better than using your cell phone photo library that will time out)

• -6x8 or 5x7 sketchbook

• -Pencils, preferably 2b and 6b, but any grade will work

About the Artist: Avon Waters

Avon feels he tends to "paint the air around a thing more than focusing on the thing itself." Living in and around natural areas, the shapes of unspoiled nature have fascinated him since his childhood and rural upbringing. Avon is at home with the trees, rocks, rivers, streams, woods and fields. He often uses bold colors to reflect his emotional response to a subject.
