What to expect:

Ready to take your stop motion skills to the next level?

This workshop is designed for young animators who have already created their own stop motion movies, or who have previously attended one of our Stop Motion Animation Beginners workshops.

Participants will explore more advanced animation techniques using professional style stop motion software and learn how to create smoother, more polished films. Young filmmakers will develop complex scenes, experiment with special effects and movement techniques, and discover how sound can bring their stories to life.

Learn how to:

• Create more realistic and expressive character movements

• Use advanced stop motion software and tools

• Record and edit your own audio

• Add sound effects and music

• Animate characters speaking through lip-syncing techniques

• Plan and produce longer, more detailed animations

This workshop is perfect for creative young people who are ready to challenge themselves and develop the patience, storytelling and technical skills used by professional animators.

Additional Information

• Please arrive 5 minutes before the start of the workshop at the ANSTO Discovery Centre to sign-in. The workshop starts at 9:30 am sharp.

• During the workshop, there will be a dedicated time for a supervised recess (BYO) break outside (weather permitting). Please bring a bag with sunscreen, snacks/ food, a hat and drink bottle. (Note - Food is not provided)

• All workshops are delivered by accredited educators with experience in science, engineering, programming and robotics.
