When the wrong drawing reaches the field, the impact can go well beyond a document control issue, leading to rework, delays, operational risk and unnecessary cost.

Join Jason Kraus, PMP, Principal Solution Consultant - Asset Solution Group at Accruent, for a practical look at how Engineering Document Management (EDM) can help ensure field teams have access to the right, approved information when they need it.

With more than 15 years of experience across IT, project management and business analysis, Jason brings a strong understanding of how technology, processes and engineering information come together in asset-intensive organizations. His work focuses on helping organizations improve how they manage engineering documentation, asset information and operational processes.

In this session, Jason will explore:

How outdated drawings and documents make their way into the field
The role of version control, approvals and document workflows
How to give field teams faster access to current, trusted information
Ways EDM can help reduce rework, risk and operational costs
Practical approaches to creating a reliable source of engineering information

Whether you're responsible for engineering, asset management, operations, maintenance or document control, this session will provide practical insights you can take back to your organization.

RedEye from Accruent is a cloud-native Engineering Document Management System (EDMS) specifically designed for asset-intensive industries like utilities, mining, power, and telecommunications. It serves as a "single source of truth" for engineering drawings, technical documents, and 3D models.

Core Capabilities

Unlimited User Model: Unlike traditional seat-based software, RedEye allows for unlimited internal and external users (contractors, partners), encouraging organization-wide collaboration without increasing licensing costs.

Mobile-First Access: It features native iOS and Android apps with offline mode, allowing field crews to access, mark up, and sync the latest drawings directly from the site, even without internet connectivity.

Advanced Search & Discovery: Users can find documents instantly using metadata, OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for text within drawings, QR codes, or GIS (Geographic Information System) mapping to find assets near their current location.

Version Control & Compliance: It maintains a strict audit trail and automated workflows, ensuring that team members always work from the most recent "as-built" version, which is critical for safety and regulatory compliance.

Legacy & 3D Support: The platform supports a wide range of file types, from legacy PDFs and hybrid CAD files to modern 3D BIM models and 2D DWGs.

Key Benefits

Eliminates Data Silos: By integrating with existing ERP, EAM (like SAP or IBM Maximo), and GIS systems, it connects engineering data with maintenance operations.

Streamlined Handovers: It bridges the gap between the construction/design phase and the operations/maintenance phase, preventing the loss of critical asset data during project handovers.

Enhanced Safety: By ensuring field workers have the most accurate, up-to-date drawings, it reduces the risk of onsite incidents caused by outdated information.

Operational Agility: Its cloud-based nature allows for rapid deployment and scalability across global infrastructure projects without the need for heavy on-premise IT infrastructure.
