Description

STOP THE BLEED® is a one-hour class with practical skills to help you activate in an emergency and save a life. Certificate of completion is only available with registered class participation.

By attending this class, you will:

Understand the signs of a bleeding emergency.
Practice hands-on skills such as wound packing, applying pressure, and proper use of a tourniquet.
Gain confidence in your ability to STOP THE BLEED®!

The mission of the Community Health Education Center (CHEC) is to inform and empower patients, families, community members, and hospital staff by providing current, evidence-based health information. Visiting the CHEC can be an important step in accessing health education, wellness programs, and services in our community.

CHEC services are available to anyone in our community, regardless of whether they are currently a patient at Salem Health.

The CHEC is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and can be reached by phone at 503-814-2432 or by email at CHEC@salemhealth.org

Scholarships: Financial assistance is available to those who need help to attend our programs. We may be able to offer a discount and/or waive registration costs depending on the situation. Please call our staff if you need assistance. (Court Mandated Classes are not eligible for scholarships)

Refund Policy: We will allow refunds if requested at least seven days prior to the first class session. Any refund requests made less than seven days before the first class session may be granted in the event of a medical or personal emergency. No refunds will be given once a program begins. In the event of program cancellation, the CHEC will automatically issue a refund to all attendees.
