Stories at the Pier
Event description
Keith started working in the old Burnie Hospital as a resident doctor in 1987. He was then a GP in Wynyard for 15 years followed by 4 years working in mental health and aged care. By 2006, a large component of Keith’s work was devoted to aged care and managing older Tasmanians suffering chronic and complex conditions. This in turn meant working with dying patients and palliative care. In 2013 Keith added on-call forensic medical examinations for the NW sexual assault service to his list of "hats". In July 2023 Keith commenced working as the Clinical Lead for the THS Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Clinical Service which is a part-time role. Keith continues in his role as a General Practice Liaison Officer as well as his part-time general practice, which is exclusively VAD.
