Guest Speaker: Candace Wood

Survivor • Author • Advocate

Candace is a survivor, author, and advocate whose work explores healing, accountability, and justice through lived experience. Over the past year, she has deepened her engagement with restorative justice, including participating in restorative dialogue and communicating directly with the man who harmed her while he was incarcerated.

Drawing on her experiences as both a survivor and restorative justice participant, Candace will speak about the complexities of trauma, accountability, difficult conversations, and the possibility of healing after serious harm.

Candace is also the creator of the This Is About You podcast and author of the Knots book series, including Hidden Knots: Unlocked Words, written to support children navigating the experience of having a parent in prison.
