Stories That Bind Us
Description
Stories That Bind Us - A Celebration of The Journey Podcast
Hosted by BMG Partners
For nearly a decade, The Journey podcast has shared the untold stories of the people who make
Albury-Wodonga such a vibrant and welcoming place to call home. Local legends, quiet achievers,
community builders - their stories have helped shape our understanding of who we are as a region.
As part of this celebration, BMG Partners warmly invites you to join us for Stories That Bind Us, a
special community event honouring the stories, people and shared moments that connect us all.
In regional Australia, our stories are our identity. Grounded in place and powered by people, they
remind us that ordinary individuals often have the most extraordinary experiences. Through
storytelling, community becomes conversation - and every story builds a stronger region.
Join The Journey community for a memorable evening:
Hosted by The Journey podcast host and 1494 2AY’s Matt Griffith, the event will feature an uplifting
panel discussion with three remarkable guests - each celebrated for the impact they’ve had on our
region and the way our community has embraced them.
Meet the Speakers:
Michelle Hensel - Cancer survivor & Chair, Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund - Michelle has turned immense personal loss into a legacy of hope, leading fundraising efforts that ensure regional families can access vital care close to home.
Guru Ghuman - Guru’s Café & Meraki Kitchen - Originally from India, Guru is one of Albury-Wodonga’s most loved community figures, known for his warmth, generosity and commitment to bringing people together.
Wassim Saliba - La Maison Restaurant - Born in Lebanon, Wassim has built thriving hospitality businesses and deep community connection since making Albury-Wodonga his home.
Together with Matt, Michelle, Guru and Wassim will explore the stories that bind us - stories of resilience, belonging, compassion and the unique strengths of regional communities.
