Stories that Stir - MELBOURNE - RESILIENCE
Event description
After many sell-out Sydney events and recently launching on the Sunny Coast, Gold Coast and Northern Rivers Region, we're delighted to announce that Melbourne resident, Michelle Cogley, is bringing Stories that Stir, to this buzzing city.
The Stories that Stir event concept, was created to break down barriers, stir conversation and inspire positive change.
Audience members rave about how good it feels to spend a lovely evening, listening to other people's funny, moving, and inspiring stories and how connected to humanity the event makes them feel.
Now you have the opportunity to experience the magic for yourself.
At Melbourne's inaugural event, you'll hear from the following six inspiring people, who will be sharing their 10-minute raw and personal stories, linked to the theme RESILIENCE.
When shit hits the fan - Emily Somers
Emily Somers was a dreamer and a traveller, a collector and a designer. She spent her days as an Art Director in a bubble of colour and happiness. Then she got sick. Real sick. She got cancer. Not once, not twice but three times. And do you know what? She beat it. Not once, not twice but three times. This is her story of strength, resilience and a fair bit of bravery.
The logic of illogical - Andrew Jobling
A vision for a better life, whilst in his darkest day, triggered an illogical idea for Andrew Jobling that totally changed the direction of his life. From a helpless position of being in $100,000 in debt working 7 days per week in 2 businesses, he has become a best-selling author of 8 books, and now lives a life of freedom, joy and meaning.
4 Nothings and The End - Emily Chadbourne
Emily Chadbourne lived a privileged life. So when things went wrong she hit rock bottom, fast. While she was down there, she found herself cobbling together some spiritual scaffolding and slowly but surely climbing her way out. These 5 spiritual principles are the brutal truth that we all need to hear, delivered from love, and with a lot of humour.
Awakening the Warrior - Michelle Cogley
Life was great…until it wasn’t. Michelle’s life took a major turn after a life changing injury caused by the Covid-19 Pfizer Vaccine. Followed by the loss of her soul mate, her Dad and her beautiful cat, in a little over 12 months she was left with no career, life threatening illness and a very broken soul. In the face of controversy, loss and grief, she awakened her warrior within, created a new quality of life and let the wisdom of her heart lead her back into the stillness of her soul.
Jiu Jitsu journey - Frank Barca
Frank will take you on his 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu journey that began in Melbourne and forced him to leave for LA, to find a better way to revive his career…for a better future …and a better life. Through trials and tribulations, and massive resistance, he was eventually led into the combat world on a global scale.
Out of Darkness - Alex Cheong
Amidst the horror of the pandemic, lock downs and the pain of losing loved ones, Alex shares his heart-warming story of losing almost everything, to rebuilding abundance and creating a life of impact. In the aftermath of loss, he discovers the resilience within, and his story proves that even in the darkest moments, the human spirit can find its way back to the light.
