After many sell-out events in Sydney, and a successful launch event in Noosa in July, we're back for our second Stories that Stir Noosa event. You'll hear from six courageous people, who will be sharing their 10-minute raw and personal stories, linked to the theme RESILIENCE.

The Stories that Stir event series was designed to break down barriers, stir conversation and inspire positive change.

Hardship To Happiness - Reece Kennedy

Reese Kennedy was born and raised on a cattle property in outback Queensland, Australia, and is a real Australian bushman with a story of life. The outback created him, from riding bulls to rolling cars, but his yearning for excitement, took him out of the bush and into the wide world...

Invisible Adversities - Claire Davidson

Claire, a leading light in Asia Pacific's media and tech sectors, faced an unimaginable ordeal: an Acquired Brain Injury from typhus, meningitis, aneurysm surgery, and a medication allergy, after rendering her disabled with cognitive, neurological and sensory impairments, all hidden to the eye. Marty Wilson tells two stories story describing how he and his wife discovered the proven psychological benefits to your resilience and baseline happiness when you continually walk through life asking "What's funny about this? What's funny about this? What's funny about this?”

My Secret Rage - Nicole Joy

For years, Nicole missed baby showers, faked her way through pregnancy announcements, and judged everyone who had children when she couldn’t. She was advised to do IVF, but for a healthy couple who surfs, meditates, and lives as naturally as possible, this was a hard pill to swallow. Looking back, Nicole realises she made the challenge of getting pregnant harder than it needed to be, by falling prey to a world full of conditions and stereotypes.

The Prostrate Storm - Paul Francis

Paul's mid-life health check triggered a storm within. His elevated PSA score revealed prostate cancer, and his world turned upside down. He entered surgery feeling fine, but emerged with incontinence and erectile dysfunction. Drawing on his system engineering expertise and 10 years in the mental health industry, Paul forged a framework to navigate the storm.

Gifts from Grief – Rachel Pope

At 17, Rachel Pope lost her Dad (age 47) to cancer, and eight years later, her eldest brother in a tragic car accident. Little did she know that her grief journey would come full circle with the death of her husband, at the same age and from the same cancer as her Dad. Their children were six and four years old. Rachel will share an uplifting insight into the journey from grief to gratitude.

Please join us for a night of extraordinary stories that will make you laugh, cry, and view the world in a different light.

If you plan to eat dinner at the venue, please arrive by 5.30 pm to give plenty of time. Otherwise, arrive by 6 pm to enjoy a drink and mingle. Seating at 6.20 pm, with the storytelling commencing at 6.30 pm sharp.
