Event description

Hands-on experiential program for curious corporates and managers looking for professional and personal inspiration. Join to learn, network, experiment, and create with like-minded people from different industries but with similar visions.

This first series of events will take place in New York, in collaboration with NYU Tandon. During the session, we will use creativity and storytelling as tools to inspire, channel, and decode technological, social, and economic trends that are shaping our current reality and constantly creating newly available futures ahead of us.


Hands-on event _ join to experiment, play and build!
Drafting inspiration from the opening talk, each participant will follow our hands-on methodology to work on a personal project of their choice. We will provide participants with different materials to create a lo-fi prototype.

6:00 - 6:10 _ Open Doors

6:10 - 6:40 _ Intro talk and tour around the NYU Lab to explore all the different technologies (please be on time!!)

6:40 - 6:50 _ Warm-up activity

6:50 - 7:20 _ TALK Inspirational talk with a guest speaker "CARLA GANNIS" to open it up for the hack. Carla is a renowned artist and NYU teacher who has been exploring all sorts of emerging technologies since she was 12. Her work has been featured in publications such as The Creators Project, Wired, FastCo, Hyperallergic, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, El PaÍs and The LA Times, among others.

7:20 - 7:40 _ Quick demos and intros from artists' mentors

7:40 - 8:50 _ HACK  Will get hands-on working following Garage Stories methodology leveraging creativity and storytelling to help you work on ideas for your current challenges, harnessing emerging technologies and cultural trends.

8:50 - 10:00 _ Wrap up & Moving to "The Gatehouses" Kings County distillery and cocktail bar for a drink, a bite and some networking

At Garage Stories, we believe that one should not only work for money, so here are our reasons for doing this: after 7 years of running creative hacks leveraging emerging technology and creating spaces for creatives to come up with innovative ideas for impact, we want to revert the roles and create new spaces for corporates to channel their talent, creativity, and passion to do the same.
