Description

At its core, STORM BIRD explores anxiety about an uncertain future, the long shadow of

childhood loss, and the damage left by parents who were absent, unstable, or impossible to

save. Each central character carries a different relationship to truth: Jack avoids it, Richard

curates it, and Carla pursues it — sometimes too relentlessly.

The film examines how class, education, and cultural assumptions shape the stories we tell

about ourselves and others, often obscuring the harm beneath. Yet STORM BIRD resists

cynicism. In moments of shared humour, awkward tenderness, and unexpected generosity, the

film finds space for connection, forgiveness, and cautious hope.

Rather than offering redemption arcs, STORM BIRD is interested in what happens when people

remain present with one another — even when resolution is impossible.
