What is STORM CO?
Storm Co. is an acronym that stands for Service To Others Really Matters Company.
Storm Co. is a youth initiative of the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It’s mission is to send teams of trained young people to work for, learn from, and encourage individual communities; sharing God’s love by building bridges to all peoples through an adventure in service to others.
WHAT WILL THE TRIP LOOK LIKE?
A team of 5-6 screened adult staff pick up around 15 teen volunteers (13-17) and travel to Scottsdale on Sunday April 14th where they will set up to spend the week sleeping and living in the Scottsdale town of Scottsdale. Monday to Friday we will spend the mornings running a little kids' holiday program for the community children of Scottsdale in the local Squash centre. This is also where we will use the showers. Monday-Thursday we will spend the afternoons assisting elderly folk in the community with yard work (mowing, weeding, etc). On Saturday we will run the church service for the Scottsdale Church, then after lunch we will all travel home.
The cost for teens to attend will be $40 each to contribute towards food for the week.
Teens will need to bring the following (an info letter containing this list will be sent out the week before we leave):
1. Sleeping bag and pillow (swag available to borrow if needed)
2. A set of Work clothes (long sleeves and pants)
3. Hat and gloves
4. 5x sets of neat every day clothing (appropriate for a kids program)
5. 1x set good clothes for church
6. Enclosed shoes
7. Towel and Toiletries
8. Water bottle
9. Plate, bowl, cup, knife, Fork, Spoon
10. Thongs for showering
11. Bible if you have one
12. Any personal medication that might be required for the duration

Storm Co. teams enter a community with the express purpose of building a relationship with that community. A team will go first to listen, and then to serve.

Storm Co. teams commit to service. They will work for a community and learn from them. Their goals is to serve without compensation.

Storm Co. teams are committed to breaking down relational barriers. They have a mandate to encourage others in their walk with God.
4. NO LIMITS
Storm Co. teams maintain a relationship with the community. Their goal is to return and be an ongoing positive influence in the community.
5. NO FEAR
Storm Co. teams are built through worship. They will not be afraid to do difficult things for God in their community!.
