Story Connections: Our Race Community End of Year Get Together
Event description
Are you free on Saturday 15th November from 6-9pm and keen to (re)connect with friends who love to share and hear stories?
After a while of not running in-person events and feeling a bit exhausted after a heavy year, we wanted to create a space for us to come together. We want this to be a space where you don't have to put on your networking hat and can just connect.
This end of year event is an opportunity to refresh, reset and reconnect as we see out 2025 and start thinking about what will be in 2026. We will have music, food and an open mic and a panel curated by Hani Abdile of Word Travels.
Panel: Who controls the story?
You want to share your story. You tell it. You record it. You publish it. But once it's out, do you, the creator, still control what happens next?
What if the story you want to tell belongs to someone else or an entire community—yet you're reaping the applause, accolades, and cash?
Three story-sharing leaders navigate the journey of your narratives once they’re released into the big wide world.
