Join us for our new and improved Story Holder workshops plus coaching!

These workshops are for Story Holders who have historically been excluded, often having their Stories exploited and commodified for an organisation's benefit.

In this workshop, we equip Story Holders with knowledge and tools to better advocate for creative control and ownership of their Stories.

For the first time of us running these public workshops we are also offering one-on-one coaching for anyone who wants the extra support of how to reclaim their Story. As co-founder Dung Tran recently shared:

"I will choose how I tell my Story and not let others continue to benefit from my Story whether that be through extraction or erasure. I am reclaiming my Story and together we can reclaim all our Stories and flip the power of Story Telling"

These programs are always free of charge for Story Holders as we believe it is the responsibility of organisations working with Story Holders to resource the communities they work with.

Hosted by Our Race Community co-founders, Dung Tran and Doug Cronin, this workshop will be an opportunity to engage in an interactive conversation of the how and why you share stories, where you share them and with whom. We will take you through the T.E.S.T. framework and share examples of how you can navigate the tricky space between wanting to share stories to advocate for community vs. the risks and rewards- including payment- associated with sharing sensitive stories.

Workshop topics:

Understanding your legal rights of your Story and looking out for extractors and interpreters
Taking control of your Story and working with Story Caretakers
Creating power in your Story by setting boundaries and taking ownership
Advocating for ethical storytelling with media, researchers and organisations

Important Note: We do not have the arrogance to tell you "how to tell your Story" through some formulaic approach but rather work with you to better understand the power of your Story and how to advocate for it.
