Stories Big Enough to Live In - with Dr. Janice, The Story Medic
Description
After a successful premiere at HumorVille on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Dr. Janice, The Story Medic returns with the new and improved Stories Big Enough to Live In.
This intimate experience taps into our oldest shared language—story—and uses it to create stealth belonging we can carry with us anywhere. The evening includes storytelling, audience participation, reflection, and embodied remembrance to create lasting lessons, fresh perspectives, and newfound community.
Curious? C’mon, it’ll be fun!
About Dr. Janice
Dr. Janice is a recovering union stage manager turned seasoned doctor of acupuncture and herbal medicine whose entire life has been woven through with story and its power to change our inner and outer worlds.
So, when life as we know it went sideways over the past several years, she began asking herself,
"What is mine to do in the face of what is?"
The answer came back -
"Reach as many people as possible and reconnect them to their own belonging. Then show them how to carry it with them wherever they go".
Thus, The Story Medic was born and with it her "stealth belonging" work.
“Out beyond ideas of rightdoing and wrongdoing, there’s a field. I’ll meet you there.” (Rumi)
Dr. Janice believes that the road to that field is paved with stories big enough for us all to live in – and she’s going to do her damndest to make sure everyone knows how to get there.
Dr. Janice is a Fall 2026 Artist In Residence at HumorVille.
