Description

For one very special night at The Theatre, Waihi, Moonbelle Productions presents original performances of;

Walking Songs - a story of songs from te araroa and Birds of Paradise - a story of songs for the spaces between

DOORS at 5.30pm. SHOW START 6.00pm

Join ‘seemingly unstoppable force of nature’ Milly Moon, in an intimate performance of story and song, inspirited by a solo journey on Te Araroa. This unique re-telling of 5 months walking the world’s toughest through-hike, celebrates the power of the voice, the body, and being shit scared but doing it anyway!

After two international tours and a tidy handful of awards, Walking Songs was answered with a new collection of tales, dark, dreamy and downright delightful.

Birds of Paradise is a unique musical conversation exploring the space between us and how we might fill the gaps with song.

With an authenticity characteristic to her performance style, Moon and co-performer, Benny ‘the bard’ Coles, weave together story, song and poetry in this celebration of unadorned musical expression that continues to question the precariousness of life and celebrate the discomfort of growth.

Developed from the friends' conversations with co-writer Lucy-Belle, Birds of Paradise offers a light-hearted response to the theme of spaces traversed since Walking Te Araroa.
