Event description

Storytelling in Clay: Shaping Tales of Nature

Connect with nature and bring your story to life through clay in this soulful workshop with Lakshmi Kanchi.

Step into the world of nature and imagination with poet and storyteller Lakshmi Kanchi (SoulReserve). This hands-on workshop blends creativity, mindfulness, and the quiet magic of the wetlands. It begins with a gentle walk through the reserve, where families are invited to slow down and notice the textures, forms, and hidden stories held by trees, leaves, gumnuts, sticks, and other natural treasures.

Back in the workshop, children and parents will shape their own stories using air-dry clay and found materials—expressing a memory, feeling, or scene inspired by the walk. With Lakshmi’s guidance, participants will reflect on what their creation represents and how it tells a personal or nature-based story. Each work becomes a tactile narrative—crafted with imagination, meaning, and care.
