Join us for a story-time and activity with author Becca McMurdie as we celebrate her newest book Building a Beak: How a Toucan's Rescue Inspired the World. Based on the true story of Grecia the toucan, readers of all ages learn how determination and teamwork can make an impact and create lasting change.

About the author:
Becca McMurdie is inspired by real-life successes in wildlife rehabilitation and ecosystem regeneration. She writes fiction and non-fiction books for children that feature animal rescues, rainforests, and urban wildlife. During the day, Becca is an elementary school educator. When not at school teaching, or at home researching a new story, she can be found at the beach, on a mountain, or in the rainforest. Originally from Takoma Park, Maryland, Becca has lived in Mexico, Chile and Costa Rica, and currently resides in New York City.
