Storyweavers Salon is a space for adults who want to explore the ancient art of storytelling — whether you're an experienced writer, someone who has always wanted to write, or simply someone who loves a good story. This session centres on the theme of Power — who holds it, who decides who has it, how it shows up in quiet and unexpected places, and the power we find in telling our own stories.

This salon is a reflective opportunity following the TEDx Yarram event on the 17th, at which Amy Han is also a speaker. It is also a precursor to the release of POWER, an anthology of new writings by the Words of a Feather community due to be released in December.

What to expect:

Readings and short pieces exploring the theme of Power
A guided creative writing exercise (no experience needed)
Time to share and discuss around the theme
Good conversation with a curious, welcoming community

About your host:

Amy Han is a writer, storyteller, and the founder of Words of a Feather — a creative writing studio based in Melbourne's eastern suburbs that has been nurturing storytellers of all ages for over 15 years. Amy creates spaces where people can develop their creative writing practice and be reminded that their stories matter. She is the author of middle-grade fiction novel The Yard Sale at Story House (2024) and A Field of Stars, a memoir about walking the Camino de Santiago (2026).
