Strange Creations - Readings and Music
Event description
Love bizarre and beautiful art? We’ve got a night of strange creations for you!
Come along for stories of hair with a will of its own, shadow flowers, monsters beyond the garden and much more. There will be haunting, emo-country inspired music. And the macabre, springtime birth of LOST SOULS MAGAZINE Issue 2.
Our writers offer bizarre revelations from their strange, short works of fiction or nonfiction. Cobi Calyx shares her experience of confronting fear and discovering expansive possibilities in the Australian bush. Fionn MacPherson explores the sadness, humour and subversive power of the supernatural. S. R. Undershultz tells a tale of human hair with its own life force. Imogen Wall recounts a journey into the underworld.
The writers will be joined by singer and songwriter, Brendan Vincent. Vincent sings with power and emotion about the sadness of things long gone, and challenges of being a robot cowboy.
The evening will conclude with an interactive conversation with performers about their work and the processes, expressions and meanings possible from 'strange creations', including how this connects us to a sense of place.
Gather with us to enjoy some weird blooms of creativity as spring nears its end!
This is the third event in the “Macabre Dreams” series hosted by Lost Souls Magazine.
