STRATA-003 | Brutalist Ikebana Still Life Workshop
Description
Strata-003 reinterprets still life through a contemporary material language, bringing organic forms into dialogue with industrial objects, raw textures and sculptural structure.
Moving beyond the conventions of traditional still life, participants are invited to work as both artist and curator, selecting and assembling their own compositions from seasonal florals, branches and a considered collection of sculptural materials. Each arrangement becomes an exercise in proportion, tension and spatial balance, where botanical gesture meets weight, mass and form.

Drawing from the principles of ikebana and structural design, the workshop focuses on texture, scale, negative space and intentional composition. Rather than prescribing a single outcome, Strata-003 encourages experimentation and individual interpretation through both arrangement and drawing.
No previous experience is required. The workshop is open to anyone interested in drawing, contemporary floral practice, raw materiality and composition.
Each 2-hour workshop includes:
An introduction to still life drawing, structural design and ikebana
A guided demonstration in arrangement and composition
Hands-on composition and drawing
Individual feedback and shared reflection
Light refreshments in an intimate studio setting
Your completed composition to take home
