From 1 July 2025, significant changes to strata legislation will come into effect. This session will guide you through:

  Expanded obligations for strata managers and committees to disclose conflicts of interest, benefits, and relationships with suppliers.

• Insurance Commission Reforms & Fee Transparency
  Changes to insurance commissions, with agencies required to pass commissions back or charge transparent fees instead.

• Strengthened Recordkeeping and Meeting Protocols
  New standards for storing, sharing, and accessing records, plus clearer requirements for running meetings effectively.

• Repairs, Capital Works, and Defect Reporting
  Enhanced responsibilities for identifying, reporting, and addressing building defects, and clearer processes for capital works planning.

• Building and Fire Safety Compliance
  Tougher safety standards, reporting obligations, and penalties to ensure resident safety and legal compliance.

• Compulsory Training for Committee Members
  We will be discussing the upcoming requirement for all strata committee members to complete mandatory training, aimed at strengthening governance and supporting informed decision-making.
