In this information session, we aim to explore effective strategies for managing distress behaviors in children. This includes:
- Define distress behaviours
- Understanding the function of behaviour
- Positive behavior management strategies
- In-the-moment and
- Out-the-moment
- Understand the role of various health professionals.
Light dinner provided from 6:30pm

Meet the presenters!
Dr. Kimberly Mercuri is a clinical psychologist with experience working across private, forensic, and not-for-profit settings. She enjoys providing individual therapy, as well as providing supervision for emerging psychologists.
After returning from a period of maternity leave, Kimberly opened DKM Psychology in July 2020 and has nurtured it to become a group practice that provides diagnostic assessment and individual intervention to children, teens, and adults.
Madeline Wilson is a highly trained registered psychologist who has completed her Master of Educational & Developmental Psychology. She has a passion for supporting young people and adults through clinical assessment and intervention. Madeline has experience working with young children, navigating NDIS, and was previously a positive behaviour support worker. After excelling in her final field placement at DKM, Madeline was offered a full-time position and is an extremely respected and valued member of the team.
Madeline provides diagnostic assessment (ADHD, Autism, Specific Learning Disorder) as well as individual intervention.
