Note: This event will run even if the weather is a little wet -- we will be capturing images of Winter in Perth, after all. In the event that the weather is completely inclement (heavy rain, a deluge), this event will be postponed to Saturday 26 July (same time). When booking a spot, please make sure you are available on both dates.

Calling all photographers with a passion for street and storytelling imagery! This winter, we invite you to explore the hidden beauty of urban Perth through your lens. Join us for a photo walk through the city’s laneways, alleyways, and street corners, where soft winter light and long shadows set the stage for striking, atmospheric shots. This is your chance to uncover the textures, tones, and moments that make Perth’s urban life so visually compelling.

Our focus on this photo walk is capturing images with meaning. As we navigate the city’s vibrant undercurrent, you’ll have the chance to chase candid scenes, spontaneous interactions, and powerful compositions that reflect the true spirit of the street in all its grit and glory. Whether it’s the contrast of bright umbrellas against grey skies, or the stillness of a lone figure on a bustling footpath, every frame has the potential to tell a story. Your challenge is to find stories that resonate with you.

Perfect for photographers of all skill levels, this photo walk offers inspiration and community: meet fellow photographers, sharpen your eye, and challenge yourself to capture images that go beyond the surface. If you’re drawn to strong urban compositions, real moments, and the art of visual storytelling—this winter walk through Perth is a must-do.

Recommended equipment:

• Your camera and similar image-capturing device. Smartphones and analogue cameras are welcome!

• Lenses in the 24-105mm range.

• Fully charged camera/smartphone battery.

• Memory card for digital cameras.

• Neutral density filter (ND32 or ND64) - if you intend to try your hand at ICM.
  

This walk is open to photographers of all levels and styles.

After the event, you're free to further explore Perth on your own, or join in for a social beverage and chat with others at a pub or hotel.
