This workshop will explore the challenges and potential solutions to strengthen farming in Wyndham. You will gain a deeper understanding of the the issues facing Werribee South and what actions are being taken to address them. You will also explore what further action the community and council can take. Farmers and leading experts will also share their knowledge.
Dr Rachel Carey from the University of Melbourne will discuss the challenges and potential policy solutions to strengthen farming in Wyndham, drawing on the findings of the Foodprint Melbourne research and on local and international examples of best practice.
Professor Michael Buxton from RMIT will discuss the range of planning challenges facing Werribee South, including planning for urban growth and the protection of the Werribee South precinct. He will explore strategies to affect positive change.
Doors open 2.30 and close 5.30 to allow for meeting, greeting and continued conversation before and after the workshop.
