Stress-test your culture before it stress-tests you
De-risk psychosocial safety compliance and build a healthy culture
Culture risk doesn't usually appear overnight. The warning signs are often there long before the consequences become visible.
Recent corporate and sporting controversies provide a powerful reminder that culture can quickly become a leadership, governance and reputational issue.
The challenge for boards and CEOs is knowing what is really happening inside their organisation before problems surface through complaints, incidents, regulatory attention or reputational damage.
Are you relying on staff engagement data to monitor your culture?
You may be navigating with insufficient data to make an informed assessment. Organisations need diagnostic data on their culture that goes well beyond engagement scores.
Traditional engagement measures can tell leaders how people feel about working for an organisation. But they don't necessarily reveal the underlying conditions shaping behaviour, pressure, performance and risk.
In this practical session, Leading Well will explore how organisations can take a more evidence-based approach to understanding and strengthening their culture.
Drawing on current organisational examples and insights from our Well@Work™ experience with Australian organisations, we will examine how leaders can identify the systemic conditions that create pressure, strengthen organisational capacity and influence performance and wellbeing.
We will explore how organisations can move beyond relying on lagging indicators to:
detect cultural vulnerabilities before they become larger organisational problems
identify psychosocial hazards and emerging areas of pressure
understand the leadership, structural and relational conditions shaping culture
translate culture data into practical organisational interventions
provide boards and executives with stronger evidence that psychosocial risks are being actively understood, managed and reviewed.
We will also introduce Well@Work™ — Leading Well's data-rich culture diagnostic — and demonstrate how bringing psychosocial risk, leadership effectiveness, work design, system dynamics, performance and wellbeing together provides a much deeper picture of organisational culture than engagement measures alone.
The question for leaders is no longer simply “Do we have a good culture?” It is: “What evidence do we have — and where are the risks we can't yet see?”
