Event description
Its time to dig out your string instrument and get back into the groove! This is an inclusive, friendly, all ages string instrument music camp for people of all levels. The focus is to learn a shared repertoire of three tunes from old time, celtic and Australian bush dance traditions. Workshops will be allow participants to learn at their own pace in a supportive group, focusing on technique and style for your particular instrument. Then all instrument groups will come together to play as a string band, and enjoy the power and glory of this wonderful union!
Camping in the beautiful Camel Tours NT grounds, with brand new amenities and a delightful restaurant pavilion space, you can self cater or enjoy the tasty meals cooked on site within our all inclusive ticket price. Bring the family, bring the kids! Everyone can play!
Tutors will include experienced and passionate string players Gleny Rae, Katie Harder and Xavia.
Check in and set up camp from Friday 4pm, dinner from 6.30pm, welcome concert 8pm
Saturday; Workshops 9 - 10.30, 11 - 12.30pm, lunch 12.30 - 1.30pm, combined string band 1.30 - 3.30pm, free time and camel rides 3.30 - 6pm. Open mic 7.30pm
Sunday; Workshops 9 - 10.30, combined string band 11 - 12.30pm, lunch 12.30 - 1.30pm, Final concert 2pm, 3pm finish.
