Event description

In this three-hour workshop you will learn how to construct a small bag, using the looping technique, perfect for carrying a phone or water bottle.

You will learn how to make your own string using phormium tenax (NZ Flax) so that your bag will be totally constructed by you from sustainable materials.  There will also be an option to use beautiful, polished hemp cord for those wanting to finish the bag in the three hours.

The bag will be constructed over a form, (bring along your drink bottle if it needs a carry bag) and you will be shown different looping patterns, how to shape your bag and ways to finish off.

Participants will be provided with an information sheet detailing the basic techniques covered in the workshop.
