    Event description

Bankstown Stroke Support Group, The Stroke Foundation and Canterbury Bankstown Council  invite you to a series of StrokeSafe talks to learn about the most common signs of Stroke (F.A.S.T), and how to reduce your risk of having a stroke.

Come along, bring a friend, to learn about the most common signs of Stroke (F.A.S.T) and how to reduce your risk of having a stroke.

You may be able to save a life of a loved one, work colleague, friend or a member of the community in distress.

In Australia, a stroke occurs every 19 minutes. It is non discriminatory in age groups, for example; babies can also have strokes. Although, age does increase your risk. However, 80% of strokes are preventable with a few reasonably minor life style changes.

These StrokeSafe talks will emphasise the most common stroke symptoms, will explain the two types of stroke and also educate on the life style changes you can make to reduce your risk.

The talks will be delivered by lived experience stroke survivors. They are willing to share their experiences and answer any non medical specific questions. They love questions!

Reaction time is critical and you can reduce and limit the physical deficiencies often seen after stroke by calling 000.
