Marketing involves communicating information about an organisation’s activities and facilities to attract and retain members, volunteers and sponsors. One of the most important elements of running a successful organisation is communication. An active website, social media and mobile phone technology have opened up opportunities for communicating with members, volunteers and supporters. However many don't know where to start. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, X and YouTube are just a few social media tools available to community groups. Social media is fast becoming a preferred way to communicate while a website is a central hub.

This workshop explores the pros and cons of various digital and social media tools, how clubs and community organisations can use them to aid communication, how to monitor and manage content and the pitfalls organisations need to avoid.
