Stronger Through Sport Pilot Appreciation Event in Tasmania

This event has passed Register

Event description

Join us for an afternoon tea and networking event to acknowledge your support for the Stronger Through Sport pilot program in Tasmania.

The Alcohol and Drug Foundation invites you to attend our Appreciation Event, where we will showcase the achievements of local participants in the Stronger Through Sport pilot program.

Stronger Through Sport was developed to connect young people with local sporting clubs to help increase their confidence, self-esteem and resilience, and decrease the risk of poor mental health and the harms associated with alcohol and other drugs. The program was piloted in Tasmania during 2023.

This special afternoon tea and networking event will include:

  • A celebration of participating sports clubs, club leaders and young people, and the skills and relationships built through the program.
  • Presentations from the clubs, referral associations and young people involved in the pilot.
  • An overview of the benefits of the program on local young people and the community.
  • A discussion on “Where to from here?” – how to continue the program beyond the pilot.
  • Opportunities for local networking.
  • Afternoon tea provided.

Note: At the end of the event, we will be holding an optional focus group for young people who participated in Stronger Through Sport. The focus group will help us to better understand the experiences of young people in the program. If you would like to be part of the focus group, please email chris.oconnor@adf.org.au.

This event is FREE, but registration is essential. Register now by clicking Get Tickets.

Please feel free to share this invitation with other relevant people within your organisation.
