Stronger Together: Community, connect and wellbeing
Event description
Stronger Together: Community, Connection and Wellbeing is an upcoming event hosted by Social Change Collective in collaboration with Everybody Eats in Pōneke on Thursday 26 June. The evening will explore the power of community connection and volunteering as meaningful ways to support our own mental wellbeing and the wellbeing of others. We want to highlight how small acts of contribution can help people feel more connected, supported, and grounded, especially in a world where many are feeling increasingly isolated.
Featuring speakers from EkeRua ReBicyle, Good Bitches Baking, and Everybody Eats, the event will bring people together over a shared pay-what-you-can, low-waste dinner, with speakers and discussion. This includes science and lived experience of how community supports mental health, to real-world examples of people building connection through grassroots mahi like conservation, workshops, or local organising. Our aim is to leave attendees with tangible ideas and pathways to get involved.
We’re especially keen to reach people who may not already have strong social networks through work or study, and to create a space that feels welcoming, inclusive, and energising.
