The Stronger Together conference aims to support parents and/or carers of people with neurodiverse needs in the Hills District. We aim to inspire you as local parents/carers by listening to our guest speakers, and panellists. Plus you have the opportunity to connect with local supports, services and resources in our exhibition space.

GUEST SPEAKERS

Rhanda and Richard Habelrich 

Randa and Richard are a mother and son award-winning, public speaking duo who share their journey with the goals of providing positive role models for younger families and educating the wider community. Richard is a young autistic man who is smashing the predictions of his initial prognoses, and Randa continues to advocate for him and his peers. Together they are the founders of Autism MATES, a not-for-profit that focuses on empowerment and more recently, Richard has started a social enterprise called Freckly Faces. Freckly Faces are handmade chocolates sprinkled with joy, topped off with the dignity of employment and creating social change one freckle at a time!

Sandy Golder

Sandy is a proud Mum to Imogen and Cooper. Imogen is Autistic and has ADHD and an intellectual disability. Sandy herself was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2013 and uses her experiences to inspire others whilst telling her story of how she learnt to tap into her grit. Sandy has a Bachelor in Health Science, PDHPE, a Bachelor in Education and also has a Graduate Certificate in Specialist Inclusive Education. Sandy is the co-founder of Australia's first social networking app for parents & carers of people with a disability and is a mentor, advocate and inspiring leader.

    Jo Abi

    Jo Abi is the mother of two neurodiverse children - Philip, 18, and Giovanni, 14. She is a senior writer and presenter at 9Honey, and an in-demand media commentator, author and regular contributor to the Today Show on the Nine Network. Her advocacy work focuses on autism, carers, and youth mental health. Jo is the author of the book 'How to date a Dad', released in 2006 and has numerous nominations and awards for her work. With a background in radio, Jo is a regular guest and host of many Podcasts about her favourite subject – being a mum. Jo was awarded a Diploma of children's Literature in 2020 and is currently completing a Bachelor of Child Psychology and Social Science at a Macquarie University.
