OUR STORY
“Hi. I am Katherine, local mum to Eva, who is 11 years old. When I first heard about the vision of ‘Stronger Together, I knew I had to be involved and had to help make it happen, so I joined the planning committee with some other passionate local mums. The journey of having a neurodiverse child can be isolating at times, so the thought of having the opportunity to be able to meet and connect with other parents in our local community who are on the same journey as I am is really exciting. This journey comes with its ups and downs, so hearing about other people’s stories from guest speakers, I hope, will normalise what I go through and give me a sense of hope and inspiration. Whilst I have been on this journey for some years now, I know that there is probably a range of services and supports in the community which I don’t know about or haven’t heard about, which could benefit both Eva and our whole family. I am really looking forward to having an opportunity to connect with new and different local services and supports. To be honest, what is most exciting about ‘Stronger Together’ is that I can have access to all these things in the one place, and at no cost. What a dream come true!
